The d

emise of another downtown restaurant is bad news, and the story is likely more complicated than appears at the surface, but there is a silver lining to
the closure of Big Mama's House of Southern Cuisine: The police and Pittsburgh Parking Authority agents who have been
busy monitoring Big Mama's parking compliance are now free to travel a couple of blocks southwest, to Sixth Street, where the Duquesne Club has been blatantly using a long stretch of public street as a paid parking lot for years.

What's sauce for the chicken and greens is equally sauce for the
spots and
macaroons (or the "
caviar from the Persian Sea"), is it not?

Is there anything in Pittsburgh you won't complain about? Your'e worried about the Duquesne Club's Valet parking? Really? A car left on the street for 10 minutes? maybe 20? This bothers you that much? Really?
You must be miserable. I pity you.
Which attribute of Duquesne Club cars most entitles them to the privilege of free parking (under a "no parking sign") on a public street, in your judgment? That they are Range Rovers and BMWs? That they belong to the "right people?" That the Duquesne Club hires an off-duty officer to enforce its claim to use of a city street for private parking?
Or simply your lack of a sense of right vs. wrong?

Hey, I heard an urban legend that the City pays for some kind of heating, snow-melting apparatus underneath the LaMont, is that true?
Speaking of LeMont . . .
That one still gets bunches of hits, some from interesting visitors.
I think I'll continue misspelling them, thanks.
You mean misspelling "it?"
