Another Mayoral Pronouncement, Another Great Moment For North Catholic's English Department

Add "continue" to the list of words InsolvenCity Mayor Ravenstahl is unable to use properly:

"Together, with the hard work of the URA and Senator Fontana, we are building strong partnerships to ensure that Beechview continues to grow."

Something can not continue to grow before it begins to grow. When, in the Boy Mayor's mind, did Beechview -- not only part of a steeply declining city, but the part the Urban Redevelopment Authority targeted for Bernardo Katzification -- begin to grow?

The Nullifier can not provide an answer, but he contributes a pertinent point.

And thanks for the grammatical lesson but you probably couldn't of even gotten into North Catholic.

Could of, couldn't of . . . some might say it 'wouldn't of' mattered -- gramatically speaking, of course.

What is wrong with grammar today? Infy, I know you're just playing along, but isn't it "couldn't have?" Just asking.

"Could of" likely derives from hearing (without recognizing as a contraction) "could've."

Grammar is fine. People are the problem.

I like people. Especially those people who shine a light on corrupt government officials.

Couldn't HAVE said...

Of course Beechview's growing. There's a bumper crop of weeds in all the vacant lots.

By the way ... there are no formal admissions standards for North Catholic, so you could HAVE so gotten in (to) ... n'at.

I thought the requirements for NC were that you
were Catholic and too afraid of Oakland to take a
bus their.

"...and too afraid of Oakland to take a bus" there.

B.Katz did not complete the "Katzification" of Beechview without inside political help.Since he is no longer in the area his former cohorts have turned like theives in the night and are saying they were duped by a master of diect from South America. The URA has made numerous promises concerning the redevelopment of Beechview in the past, from the appearance of the community, the npromises did not materialize. It is only now because of the efforts of Senator Fontana without the help other politicians whose only concern is their own agenda that a light at the end of the is showing.
