As InsolvenCity drifts toward BankrupCity, another CILNO (candidate invoking last name only), has announced a campaign for public office.
Tony Ceoffe Jr. -- whose campaign announcement lists a Central Catholic diploma, a position as ward chair for the city Democratic Committee, and a board position with a community group that was led by Ceoffe Sr. as his qualifications -- desires to replace Dr. Patrick Dowd in Insolvencity's Council District 7. If Ceoffe the Younger (26) has earned a college degree, held a real job, or accomplished anything beyond receiving a birth certificate with a politically connected surname, he apparently doesn't want to brag.
That Dr. Dowd should worry about competition from the likes of Tony Ceoffe Jr. is among the points that should incline the rest of the region to begin looking for an ice floe large enough to hold the City of Pittsburgh long enough to reach deep water.

Maybe he has done a bunch of other stuff. I learned to leave my best skills out of the resumé.
This Renaissance is coming to a crashing halt on many levels.
Shame on Tony for not checking with you to make sure he met your qualifications.....guess you'll really be pissed when he kicks Docter Dowd's Docter ass.
PS check your facts, he has a job.
Meh. Everybody has a job, even Infy (I assume).
The quota of individuals running for or holding public office with a Catholic school education has been met and others should save the filing fees when considering their futures.
Given the plummeting PPS enrollment, I'm assuming this means you want Mt. Lebo grads to move into the city and run.
Will he be a rubber stamp for Widdle Wukie as is the Rev and Theresa? Has he been endorsed by the powers to beat the "5" getting in the Mayors way of whoring the city out to the highest bidders. Wukie needs friends.
Leading your campaign announcement with a Central Catholic diploma probably makes sense if you are running against a docter . . . because if you are running against a docter, you probably are dealing with a Lawrenceville-level electorate.
OK. I'll bite. What is Ceoffe Jr.'s job? How does he earn a living?
Entry-level state employee.

Yes
Yes, comment forthcoming.
@Infy 4:11..
You said.. Entry-level state employee.
I'm *sure* you meant "Qualified Entry-level state employee" /snort
After observing the staffing of the Bush Jr. Department of Justice and the kiddie corps sent to occupy Iraq, one can no longer assume that non-randomly selected government employees are qualified for their positions.
That's what you were referring to, right?
These are seats on Pittsburgh city council, not on the National Security Council. The qualification is running and winning.
Just like a class delegate election in junior high school?
Junior high school? I didn't realize such an advanced education was a requirement for City Council (or City government).
CM:
Please show some compassion. Not everyone can attend a half-dozen fourth-tier colleges on the way to a major party's nomination for national office.
There will always be many african-americans of this district. Who will always remember the Patrick Dowd headed the lynch mob that destroyed John Thompson. Again, Patrick why did Dr. Thompson deserved to be fired, and Mark Roosevelt worshipped??
