Parking Push: List-Makers Luke Just Sent In JV

The junior varsity of the region's ossified, self-aggrandizing, counterproductive power structure has reportedly endorsed the
List-Makers' mayor's plan to place InsolvenCity's long-term, citywide parking concession in the hands of privateers.

Key points for the Downtown Partnershippers: Free parking for church ladies (page 24), appropriate planning for Super Bowl parades (page 22) and -- surprise!! -- their cut of the cut-rate pie (page 23).

Give it up. This has been greased from day one. Who's gonna stop it? Lavell? Smith? Dowd? Harris?
Oops, that's four. Da Rev makes five. Game over.
You just like to hear yourself talk. Why don't you and Peduto buy a microphone and set it up at a hookie bar in the east end?

Interesting that you are counting Dowd and Harris Aon 5:39. Have you been paying attention at all?

They're in the bag, both of them. If this jackass post one of his betting odds on it I'll put the house on Dowd and Harris, yes and yes. I'll even tell you this-Harris will be the last yes vote. You think this stuff hasn't been laid out? The money people on this know what council will do before council does. They don't know exactly what it will take, but they know where the votes will come from. Granted Smith and Lavell are easier and won't take much at all. But council will fall in line, whatever it takes. Dowd, then Harris. Watch.

I think our Infinonimous pal knows it too. Haven't noticed a prediction the deal will get stopped, have we? Just a lot of whining.

Does this answer your question, am I paying attention "at all"?

If you do post odds, post them for all three options: Morgan Stanley, Pension Ownership, and Revenue Bond. Might also want to add FIELD for an idea that has yet to emerge, and TIME EXPIRES for doing nothing sufficient and letting the state do its thing.

So tell me Nostradamus, Why would Dowd and Harris (and six other members of council) go through all the trouble to get an independent analysis if they are "in the bag"?

AND Why would Bill Daley and Perry Offutt fly to Pittsburgh at a moments notice in an attempt to prevent the study if the deal is "in the bag"?

To answer your question: No, I don't believe you have been paying attention. Your comment sounds like wishful thinking.

Dowd's a flake and Harris wants to act presidential but both of them want reelected and that means not crossing the people who are behind this. Cost of a city council election for or against is peanuts compared to real money. Paying attention? Dowd hates Peduto and Shields Kraus more than Luke by the way so it could be a spite vote too. In the end some street work, campaign support, good ol 'sky is falling/us vs. them' and some personal council politics all it will take-Dowd vote 4, Harris vote 5, game over. My prediction. Lets see yours.

Its me by the way from first comment but someone else is using anonymous.

Someone else took the name Anonymous?!?! The nerve!

Yea, I'm paying attention. You are saying that Pittsburgh City Council can be bought an sold by Morgan Stanley and their local associates.

You are saying that they have no integrity, don't care about the future of the city and can be bought off with "peanuts."

You want my prediction? You are wrong.

Yea, I'm paying attention. You are saying that Pittsburgh City Council can be bought an sold by Morgan Stanley and their local associates.

You are saying that they have no integrity, don't care about the future of the city and can be bought off with "peanuts."

You want my prediction? You are wrong.

Bought and sold? No. More like Way of the World. Street gets done here, park gets cash there, somebody gets a job, somebody's supporter makes a call, somebody's mad at somebody else for who the hell cares what, some attornies and accountants in real nice suits hand out some paperwork, somebody wants reelected, next thing you know the votes are on the right side. Did Dowd get bought and sold to vote with the Mayor for council prez?Or did he have some beef with a couple of people that the Mayor's people worked on until Dowd made a vote even Dowd would not have believed a year ago. Is that bought and sold? No it is not. Just politics.

I'm on record. Dowd first, then Harris. 5-4. Money men win big. usual losers whine.

Who else will put their prediction out there???? We can see how is paying attention.

Management will post appropriate lines on the Propositions Board soon. Adjusting lines has been a pain lately because of a software bug.

The comments have provided several good ideas for lines. Thank you.

Paying Attention - The Mayor controls the garages and Council controls the meters, right? I see a game of chicken occurring and perhaps not so bad, to each their own. If we run shy of the required sum for the pension fund using that method, we can take out advertising on the meters and garages respectively after soliciting bids as City Planning sets the ground rules.

Re: New Odds

Give me a 5p Dowd, Harris quinella for NAY on the council parking vote for the privateers. I want better odds for quinella considering the pair's history. And give me 10p on Big Ben being on the field at the opener.

Infinonymous said...

A quinella is a bet on the first two finishers (any order). No one is going to beat Burgess to a "yes" vote on this one. Taking your action wouldn't be sporting. No bet.

You appear to want a Daily Double (coupled bet on two distinct propositions). Management offers a Daily Double line of 5-4 on Dowd and Harris voting identically, and accepts your 5p wager on a Daily Double line of 5-3 on both voting "no."

Wagering 10 to try to win 4 on Ben dancing dry through raindrops? Were you in that restroom?
